The course content will cover traditional tuning methods, musical genres and practices, folk and court traditions, instruments, as well as music and poetry. The course will conclude with a few weeks exploring other Asian musical cultures, comparing and contrasting different practices and aesthetics such as Gamelan music and Indian music.
