Rotating Lantern (2021)

Rotating Lantern contradicts modernity with nostalgia, and juxtaposes noise with inward serendipity. It is unbearably loud when its surroundings are vacant, desperately seeking attention. And when the lanterns lures you in, it gets quieter, cherishing its audience, and eager to communicate. Childhood memories are evoked by the rotating lanterns and the kids' room setup. The innocent, pure joy of a child can only be found when you bear through this noisy, detached, overwhelming wash of sounds. Perhaps it is just like your unbearably loud neighbor: beneath those attention-seeking gestures and audible chaos, lies an isolated, perceptive, and beautiful soul.
